Located in the centre of Ballater, just off the main Bridge Street, the amenities of the village are all on your doorstep. Set within the Conservation Area, and as part of the Cairngorm National Park there is much to see and do in the area, including Balmoral Castle and Estate just 8 miles away, hillwalking, golf, fishing, cycling, historical castles, skiing, and many other outdoor pursuits.
Situated at the end of Albert Road within the conservation area of Ballater, this detached holiday home can comfortably sleep six people and is spacious and welcoming. StonesThrow Cottage is pleased to welcome well-behaved pets with prior agreement. Newly created with modern appliances and furnishings, tastefully decorated with pieces of bespoke handmade furniture and soft furnishings throughout.
There are two good-sized upstairs bedrooms, one super king-size with handmade oak headboard and one twin room, this can be made up into another super king-size on request, each with three Velux windows, incorporating blackout blinds for those who prefer a darkened bedroom. Both rooms benefit from views to the rear of Craigendarroch and views to the front of Craig Coillich Hill.
There is an upstairs shower room with a large shower and there is a spacious landing area with seating. Downstairs there is a double bedroom with fitted wardrobe, blackout curtains and a bathroom with over bath shower. There is a hairdryer and linen and towels are provided.
The new, well-equipped kitchen, with bespoke dining table leads into the lounge area with an open slate hearth and log burning stove, helping to create a warm and comfortable environment. Logs are supplied for your stay. French doors lead to a decked area which runs along the rear of the house, incorporating LIFE garden furniture for relaxing and unwinding. There is a lawned area and a storage shed where you can keep your bicycles and equipment, a covered area with a circular picnic table is situated to the rear of the garden.
Completed in 2023, StonesThrow Cottage has been lovingly built by ourselves, with the help of friends and local tradesmen, with an enclosed front and back garden and space for two cars off the street. You can see the progress from start to finish in the History of the Cottage book.
