Strathearn B and B and croft is situated in the north of the Isle of Skye in the small crofting township of Kildonan midway between Portree, 11 miles away and Dunvegan, 10 miles away, giving easy access to all the attractions Skye has to offer. We are approximately 30 minutes from Uig for ferry travel to the Outer hebrides. Our home and croft is on the hillside overlooking and with access to Loch Grehornish with wide reaching sea views to the Outer Hebrides. We are in an excellent position to view the Northern Light (Aurora Borealis) when they put on a display. We show these and other pictures of life on the croft on our Facebook page. The nearest village, Edinbane, is 2 miles away with an award winning restaurant serving local produce and a village pub serving food and hosting regular scottish music sessions. We provide information, maps and guide books to enable you to get the most from your holiday on Skye. We can advise you about walks ranging from a local stroll around the township road with views over Loch Snizort and the Trotternish ridge and up to Flashader Dun to more strenuous longer walks in the various areas of Skye depending on your preferences and fitness!.
We have 3 ensuite (walk in shower) bedrooms available with sea views over Loch Greshornish to the Outer Hebrides, 2 with a King Size double bed and 1 with 2 single beds which can be zipped together to form a large double (please request when booking). Rooms are comfortably furnished in modern style have TV/DVD, tea/coffee making facilities with homemade cookies, room to sit and enjoy the view and Wi-Fi. Each room has hairdryer, clock radio, and even binoculars so you may see that elusive otter or seal at the water's edge!
