Set in a serene position by the water, Taigh Ailein is a cosy cottage that has recently had a complete refurbishment in 2018. Located in the peaceful township of Manish in the south of the island, this cottage is ideal for those looking to take a quiet break in the Outer Hebrides.
Inside, the cottage is modern yet cosy, and each of the rooms has breathtaking views of the water at the front of the house. You are sure to spend hours taking in the scenery, whether that’s from inside or outside the cottage! The kitchen/dining room is the perfect social space with its open plan layout, which is ideal for the cook in the party so they will always feel included whilst they are cooking up a storm for the group. The sitting room has the added bonus of a multi-fuel stove for those chillier evenings, but please note that fuel is not supplied and should be purchased beforehand. The bedrooms are bright and fresh, each with beautifully patterned linen to add a pop of colour to each room.
The cottage is located a short drive away from the numerous sandy beaches on the west side of the island, and you can reach the north of Lewis in two hours’ drive away, so you have plenty of time to explore every corner of this beautiful island. There are endless places to go on foot and by bike, and you will truly be enchanted by the scenery that Harris has to offer.
