Located on a working croft in Breasclete on the west side of Lewis this newly refurbished self catering property, which sleeps up to 6 people, comes with stunning views over Loch Roag and provides an ideal base for your holiday in the Hebrides.
Taigh Granaidh (Granny's Cottage) is located on a working croft in the village of Breasclete on the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides. The cottage can sleep 6 with two double bedrooms and one twin bedroom with two single beds. There is a large kitchen, 2 bathrooms and a comfortable sitting room with spectacular views to Loch Roag.
The house sits beside the "loom shed" on the croft and visitors can make arrangements to pop in and see Harris Tweed being hand woven on the loom while children might want to try their hand at feeding pet lambs on the croft, collecting the hen's eggs or at casting for trout on the nearby lochs.
For many visitors the highlight of any visit to Lewis is always the chance to see the world famous standing stones at Callanish, the neighbouring village to Breasclete. The stones are located about 5 minutes by car from Taigh Granaidh.
Within 10 minutes by car from Taigh Granaidh visitors can see spectacular beaches, spot golden eagles, try to sneak up on an otter on the loch, cast a fly for trout or salmon, visit an iron age broch, examine the workings of a Norse Mill, embark on a walk across some of the last real wilderness remaining in Europe, take advantage of the dark skies to watch for a display of Northern Lights, or just sit with a dram in hand watching the sun set over Loch Roag.
Taigh Granaidh is an excellent base for the many activities the area has to offer or simply for a lovely relaxing holiday where you need to do nothing at all except turn the pages of your book.
