The property has its own private entrance at road level, and consists of one single, one twin bedded and one double bedroom, kitchen, dining room, bathroom, and large dining room lounge. It is fully centrally heated and double-glazedParking is by the door, and the fully enclosed private garden is fitted with a washing line.
Talmine is a small crofting community at the mouth of the Kyle of Tongue on the edge of the North Coast 500.
The area is suitable for hill walking, bird watching, fishing, flora, cycling or just getting away from it all in the peace and quiet of the countryside. We are a short walk from the nearest of many beautiful sandy beaches and coastal paths. Boat trips to the Islands can be arranged where a number of seals and seabirds can be seen at close proximity. Swimming pool and fitness suite are all within easy reach. Cooking is by electricity, and the kitchen is fitted with a microwave, fridge, washing machine, tumble drier and deep freeze.
Talmine Stores has a selection of fresh fruit and vegetables, freshly frozen beef, lamb, pork, and chicken as well as general groceries, off license, and electronic top-up for your mobile. The post office offers a full range of banking services.
We are situated within easy reach of daytrips to Lochinver in the west and John O'Groats in the east. Some more ambitious guests have done the trip to Orkney, which means a fairly early start.

From the nearest information centre:- From Bettyhill Tourist Information Centre travel west to Tongue on the A838, then across the Kyle of Tongue still on the A838 and turn right at the end of the causeway, you will find us 3 miles from tje junction.
Getting there by railway:- From Lairg Railway Station on Wednesday's T4T bus meets the train at 12.18p.m. and takes you to the property. For more information visit www.transport for tongue.co.uk On the last Saturday of the month T4T bus leaves the property at 8am and goes to Inverness, leaving Inverness at 4.15pm There may be more services from Lairg during the summer months - check website for updates.
Getting there by air :-From Inverness Airport travel north on the A9 to Bonar Bridge then north on the A836 to Tongue. Continue on the A838 across the Kyle of Tongue. Turn right. We are 3 miles from the junction.
Getting there by ferry:- By ferry from Scrabster, travel west to Tongue on the A838, then across the Kyle of Tongue still on the A838 and turn right at the end of the causeway, you will find us 3 miles from the junction.. A total of approx 40 miles
If you are driving all the way we are 2 hours drive north of Inverness.
