It is four miles from the main road, along the south shore of the Armeanach Peninsula overlooking Loch Scridain and out to the Ross of Mull. A paradise for photographers, artists, ornithologists, geologists, archaeologists and botanists. During summer evenings red deer, bats and owls are often seen. The accommodation is simple and well appointed. The house is centrally heated, with showers, a large kitchen, an open fire and a good drying room. Tavool is ideal for parties, family gatherings, school and university field trips and last Munro parties. It is very popular for New Year celebrations too. There is a rich array of wildlife in the area and good fishing to be had nearby in lochs and rivers. The activities worth considering in the south west of Mull include: abseiling, kayaking, camping, night line, canoeing, swimming, snorkelling, orienteering, rock climbing, team building, gorge walking, mountain biking, navigation tuition, gorge scrambling, hill & coastal walking. Optional leader lead adventure activities can be arranged at an additional charge. Getting to Tavool is easy on the regular forty minute ferry service from Oban.
