The Bothy at Troston
The Bothy at Troston is a charming conversion of an old stone-built bothy in a lovely situation 7 miles from Dumfries to the north.
This easily accessible corner of Scotland holds many attractions for the visitor. At New Abbey (2m shop, pubs) there is lovely Sweetheart Abbey with Caerlaverock Castle, the ‘castle of the lark’, across the bay. Walkers can join the Southern Upland Way 25 miles away at Dalry. There are numerous golf courses, fishing, sailing, bird watching, riding – the list is endless.
