The Byre is situated at Boghead a working beef and sheep farm just outside the village of Lumsden in rural Aberdeenshire. Ideally situated 30 miles from the stunning beaches and fishing villages of the Moray coast to the north or Aberdeen to the east and 25 minutes from the Cairngorm National Park for spectacular walks or drives it provides the ideal holiday venue.
The cottage which was converted from the original steading buildings in 2019 has 3 bedrooms (sleeps upto 6) all with ensuite showers rooms with a open plan kitchen /living room complete with fully fitted and equiped kitchen a dining table to seat 6 and comfortable sofas. There is a Smart television with built in DVD player and wireless internet is available throughout the cottage.
The Green room has a Super King size bed which can be split into 2 3ft singles, the Orchre room has a King size bed which again can be split to provide 2 2ft 6 inch singles and the Purple room has a double bed.
All the rooms have individual thermostats for the underfloor heating to ensure room temperatures can be set to individual preferences.
The cottage was designed to be fully disabled accessible with everything being on one level with no steps inside or out and the main bedroom has plenty of room for a wheelchair (should one be needed) as well as an ensuite wetroom.

Outside the patio doors is a patio area with table and chairs with a large level parking area outside the front door as well as an ajoining boiler room for drying any wet clothing and the storage of bikes or fishing equipment etc. There is also a 7kw electric car charging point.
The Byre is just off the Whisky trail with our nearest distillary being 10miles away and right on the castle trail with the nearest castle being 3 miles away. Deeside Activity Centre and Lochter are both 30 minutes away for Go-Karting, Clay shooting etc with several riding stables and cycle trails locally.
Lumsden retains a small village shop at the garage for everyday essentials as well as full garage services, at the end of the village is Mossat Fishery and an Antique shop. Alford which is 8 miles away has a Co-op and selection of local shops as well as the Grampian Transport Museum for all things transport from the Stage coach era to modern day and the Alford Heritage Centre and Museum for a look into the North East's past. The market town of Huntly is 12 miles away and has 2 supermarkets, Tesco and Asda as well as local shops and is the home of Deans Shortbread Factory and Bistro, the Nordic Ski Centre and Huntly castle.
