The Coach House at Roberton is a charming converted former coach house accessed through the Borthwickbrae Estate near Hawick (7 miles) in the rolling Scottish Borders countryside.
The house has been carefully modernised whilst retaining many original features including the colourful stable doors where two sets of French doors now flood the house with natural light. The main living area is spacious and open plan with seating to curl up on around the wood-burning stove at one end and a dining area at the other. There is even a piano if you fancy a musical interlude in the evening.
The traditional wood-panelled kitchen is laid out in what was the old tack room and you can still see the saddle racks and bridle hooks up on the wall. The large gas range makes cooking a pleasure and there is also a handy downstairs shower room.
Upstairs are two pleasant double bedrooms, a twin bedroom with lovely views out over the garden and a bathroom with bath and shower over.
Outside is an extensive grassed garden area with a beautiful outlook over the open countryside where you can relax and enjoy the peace and seclusion of this pretty spot. The adjoining house also belongs to the owners who use it occasionally for their own holidays, but it has its own separate garden, entrance and parking.
