The Cottage Stein has been lovingly created by the current owners to provide stylish and contemporary accommodation whilst retaining the warmth and character of an old, traditional Skye cottage. The superb location offers uninterrupted sea views, with the additional bonus of being within two minutes walking distance of the very popular Stein Inn, the oldest inn on the island, and the Loch Bay Restaurant, with its award winning chef.
The Waternish peninsula is renowned for its glorious sunsets in summer and star gazing in the winter due to its perfect dark skies. Many pictures in the local galleries bear witness to the stunning displays of the Northern Lights over recent years. Waternish also offers beach, forest and cliff walks all offering an abundance of beautiful scenery and wildlife. Very lucky people will see dolphins in the bay, more frequent visitors are seals, golden eagles and sea eagles. On wet days Waternish has several galleries selling art, pottery, knitwear and sheepskins.

Although we don't serve dinner there are a number of lovely places to eat in the area. The Stein Inn and Loch Bay Restaurant are only a couple of minutes walk away. The Edinbane Inn, Old School House Restaurant and The Three Chimneys are slightly further afield but all within a short drive. We are happy to help organise your choice.
