‘The Coul Hoose’ is an attractive two bedroom semi-detached cottage located in the small village of Embo, just 3 miles northeast of Dornoch. The cottage has everything you need for an enjoyable and relaxing break in the Highlands.
Refurbished in 2016, the interior of the property has been fitted out in a comfortable “country cottage” style including rugs, throws and cushions handmade by the owner! Wifi is available throughout the property. Pets are welcome (by prior arrangement).

Lounge including; sofa, armchair and pouffe, comfortable double sofabed, widescreen TV with Freeview and DVD player (with selection of DVDs).
A kitchen/dining room including; dining table and seating for up to 6 guests, a freestanding fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave, widescreen TV with Freeview and DAB radio with Bluetooth speaker. The kitchen is also fully equipped with everything you would need whether you are looking to cook up a storm or just dish out a takeaway!
Utility room with ironing facilities and washer-dryer.
Master Bedroom – Super King (or Twin) complete with dressing table and mirror, bedside tables, luggage racks and hangers.
Twin Bedroom complete with two single beds, dressing table and mirror, bedside table, luggage racks and hangers.
Large shower room complete with modern shower, heated towel rail and de-misting mirror and shaving socket.
To the rear of the property is a large, secure, enclosed garden mostly laid to lawn. In addition, there is also a “sun-trap” decking area complete with a charcoal BBQ and outdoor furniture for enjoying those long summer evenings.
A single private parking space is available to the side of the property. Additional parking is available on the street.
A short 2 minute walk from the front door will lead you down to the beautiful clean and sandy Embo Sands beach, with stunning views of Ben Bhraggie and the Dornoch Firth. You may even be lucky enough to spot bottlenose dolphins from the pier! Embo also boasts its very own holiday park with several facilities that are open to the public including a swimming pool, tennis courts, crazy golf course, public bar, restaurant, convenience store and takeaway. The Embo Community Shop and Post Office is run entirely by volunteers highlighting the close knit and resilient locals that make up this wonderful seaside village.
Access by car is recommended to allow you to fully appreciate the many walks, golf courses, distilleries, beaches, scenery and wildlife Dornoch and the surrounding area has to offer.
