For a great Hebridean Escape The Doctor’s Bothy is a perfect choice, spectacularly perched on a hillside above Loch Hosta on North Uist. Surrounded by croftlands frequented by herds of deer it is situated about ¾ mile up a rough gated track (with parking at either end), beside the ruin of the Old Manse. It is the only house on the island where, on a clear day, you can see all the Southern Hebridean islands, The Monarchs and St Kilda. A short stroll will take you to the beautiful Hosta Beach with its clear turquoise water, silver sand and rock pools.
Comfortably furnished, with a multi-fuel stove for warmth and hot water, the Bothy is a snug all year round retreat. PV solar panels provide just enough energy to light the cottage, power a radio, a TV and charge your phones. You really will have some tales to tell when you return from your memorable holiday here!
