The dictionary defines the word folly as “an extravagant structure built to serve as a conversation piece or to lend interest to a view.” Clad in suitable Larch externally, with exposed beams made from local Douglas Fir on the inside, the Folly is at one with its woodland setting and certainly lives up to its name. Its high ceilings and turreted bedroom create a light and airy feel. While the under floor heating, beneath terracotta tiles, and a wood burning stove ensure things remain cozy. You will fall asleep and wake to the sound of the waterfall that tumbles down close by.
The spacious kitchen, with adjacent utility and drying room, leads to an open plan dining area with superb views over the gardens, orchard and loch. There is a sizeable bathroom with large bath and shower. Down a short staircase opens into a delightful circular sitting room. Upstairs is the bedroom with balcony. The front terrace and balcony soak up the sun during the day, while the evening sun is best enjoyed from the back deck, which is cantilevered over the burn
