The Honey House is a sweet little cottage in an equally picturesque setting, standing in a quiet lane of traditional, terraced cottages just by the river in Longformacus. Inside, the cottage has been refurbished to a high standard and is very well-equipped. The upstairs open-plan living area is bright and spacious with a wood-burning stove at its heart and lovely views out over the pretty grassed garden to the rear.
For all its peace and rural charm, Longformacus is very accessible and well placed for exploring the delights of this attractive area. It is perfect for walking out in all directions as it sits right on the Southern Upland Way and is also on the edge of the rolling Lammermuir hills.
The historic town of Berwick-upon-Tweed (21m) is well worth a visit and carrying on down the Northumbrian coast you will find Lindisfarne, Bamburgh and Alnwick (castle and gardens). Heading north, the bustling capital Edinburgh is only an hour’s drive away and you can be golfing at Luffness or even Muirfield within the hour.
