The Lodge is idyllically set in its own secluded, garden on the shores of Loch Ryan, close to Stranraer.
The Lodge is situated at the end of a cul-de-sac, beside Loch Ryan within its own secluded garden which has a paved BBQ area with table and chairs for al fresco dining. Sleeping four, the cottage has two good sized bedrooms, one doubles shower en suite, and one twin room, as well as a spacious bathroom with a full sized bath and shower attachment. The open plan sitting and dining room is comfortably furnished and has a TV and DVD player. The modern kitchen is fully equipped. On sunny days, the cottage's sun lounge or pretty garden is the perfect spot for relaxing with a good book or your favourite tipple. The property has adjacent parking and is suitable for people with mobility difficulties. Travel cot is available if required, although blankets are not supplied.
Stranraer has a bustling town centre with fantastic museums, and colourfully painted rows of houses, cafes, guest houses, hotels and shops. Whilst you're here, follow The Town Trail which begins with The Strand by the Castle of St. John - climb to the top to enjoy magnificent views of the region - before continuing along the seafront, why not pack up a picnic of some of the regions delicious local produce and enjoy a family day out by heading to one of the regions beautiful beaches? For a different option, there are daily sailings to Northern Ireland from the port of Cairnryan, which is just a short drive along the coast.
Stranraer is a great centre for the serious walker and is skirted by the Southern Upland Way. The area has many and varied gardens open to the public during the summer months - Castle Kennedy, Glenwhan and Logan. Logan Botanical Garden is one of the few sub-tropical in Britain. There are also two bowling greens in the town, where visitors are welcome. For golfing enthusiasts, there are several courses of very high standard, (for which concessions may be arranged) including the local Championship course - Creachmore.\-
