Surrounded by a Site of Special Scientific Interest of 6,500 acres of moorland, The Log House is a truly special holiday house in Scotland. With fabulous walks from the door, including the River Ayr Way, and a huge variety of bird and wildlife including Black Grouse, Hen Harriers, Golden Plover, and Short-Eared Owls to be spotted, the nature lover will adore this property. Fishing may also be arranged. With the Championship golf courses of Turnberry, Troon and Prestwick within easy reach, there is plenty to do for the outdoor person.
The Log House is full of character and charm and equipped to ensure you have a great self-catering holiday. A large deck allows al fresco dining and the big sitting rooms, with open fire are perfect to gather around at the end of the day. It is a wonderful holiday house to socialise as a large group, to celebrate with family, or just enjoy the wonderful outdoors around.
Despite its rural location, Muirkirk and Mauchline have a variety of shops, whilst the Sorn Inn combines both a traditional pub and an excellent restaurant. The Log House is also within easy reach of the fabulous sandy beaches of Ayrshire. Also in the area are many historical places of interest, such as Dumfries House in Cumnock or the National Trust for Scotland's properties of Culzean Castle and Rabbie Burn’s birthplace in Alloway.
