THE LONG HOUSE benefits from a renewable air source heating system providing ecologically efficient under-floor heating and hot water. Downstairs all rooms have polished concrete floors, with the upper areas being fully carpeted. All kitchen appliances are electric, including the induction hob. The central kitchen island houses the fridge, freezer and storage areas. A utility room \ main entrance, contains a washer drier. The ground floor en-suite has a large walk-in shower, with both upstairs en-suite bathrooms containing baths / showers. BT Broadband Wifi is provided with a 4G mobile network also available. A smart television with a range of DVDs is on hand for the odd inclement day!
The property enjoys a full length decked area facing the loch where seals and Sea Eagles can be seen, deer are also a regular visitors to THE LONG HOUSE grounds (best glimpsed at dawn break and sunset), and being a crofting community expect to see sheep wandering everywhere.
A short walk down the hill is Meanish Pier where fresh sea produce can be bought directly from the local fishermen, here dolphins and whales can be spotted against the backdrop of the distant mountains of the Outer Hebrides.
A magical setting within a stunning landscape , Glendale and Lower Milovaig are the perfect place for a getaway and an ideal base for exploring the many attractions of the island. Areas of interest close by are Neist Point Lighthouse, Dunvegan Castle & MacCrimmon Cairn. Walking routes along the Quirang, Trotternish Ridge and the Glens of the Cuillin mountains are within easy reach of Glendale. The Glendale area offers numerous opportunities for outdoor pursuits such as hill-walking, fishing, sailing and cycling. There are also many artists and makers in the locality as well as the delicious Cafe Lephin which is just ten minutes down the road.
