Set in the stunning Corrour Estate, The Old School House is part of the original lodge where the Corrour locals were schooled.
Accommodation: 2 bedrooms, 1 double, 1 twin (sleeps 4)
As the name suggests, this atmospheric holiday house was originally where schooling for Corrour inhabitants took place. Part of the old original lodge that still remains, the School House is redolent with tradition. Double height ceilings with beams, tongue and groove lined walls, floorboards and the welcoming wood burner combine to make this a charming and cosy holiday home.
The high ceilinged living/dining/kitchen is where you will spend most time – it is beautifully furnished in simple yet perfect style. There is a twin bedroom on the ground floor as well as a bathroom whilst up the winding staircase is a light and inviting double. As with all these Corrour estate houses, the quality shines out.
While Corrour sits high up into the hills, it is a glorious spot to relish the magnificent landscapes and wildlife. There are numerous walks or take a train to Fort William from Corrour’s own station – and enjoy a meal at the local station restaurant where estate sourced food is regularly on the menu.
A place to savour and one you will want to return to.
