The Old Schoolhouse

In the picturesque and peaceful village of Kingsbarns (pub, shop) just 6 miles from historic St Andrews in Fife, this substantial and most attractive 18th century former schoolhouse now provides lucky holiday makers with comfortable and beautifully presented accommodation.

There is no need even to go as far as St Andrews (through of course it is a must-see!) for beaches and golfing, as a short walk will bring you to the local beach, popular with surfers, passing Kingsbarns’ own links course, where visitors are welcome. There, you are also on the Fife Coastal Path, which affords hugely scenic walking for miles in both directions.
Inland, Scotland’s Secret Bunker, Kellie Castle and fairytale Falkland Palace are further local attractions, while offshore, trips can be taken to see the seabird colonies on the Isle of May. Edinburgh too is an easy day out, perhaps by train from Cupar or Glenrothes.
