Earlston sits on the banks of the River Leader which joins the highly renowned River Tweed 2 miles south of the village. Home to Thomas the Rhymer, a Scottish Laird and prophet in the 13th Century, Earlston is surrounded by rolling countryside and served by a network of footpaths.
The Red Lion is an ideal base from which to start any of the circular routes, some of which give access to the nearby town of Melrose or join up with the Southern Upland Way.
We have reopend our bedrooms on a room only basis from 15th August 2020. Sadly our kitchen and bar will remain closed for the time being.
Bedrooms are all ensuite with free wifi, combined DVD/TV players and tea/coffee facilities.
