The Ruff, a former Harbour Master’s house, is a charming Orkney stone cottage in a secluded coastal location at the entrance to St Margaret’s Hope Bay, on the peaceful island of Ronaldsay.

This thoughtfully modernised single-story retreat offers stunning sea views, a sauna for relaxation and easy beach access.

The cosy sitting room features a wood-burning stove for added comfort, while the well-equipped kitchen/dining area ensures a comfortable stay. The large ‘sitooterie’ provides a lovely breakfast room

Accommodating up to four guests, the cottage has a king-sized double bedroom, a twin bedroom, and a bathroom with a shower over the bath.

Outside, children can play on the lawn or rocky beach, and the enclosed courtyard/patio is perfect for morning coffee or just enjoying the sea air.

With ample parking and a private slipway for dinghies, The Ruff is an ideal base for exploring the Orkney Islands, offering peaceful seclusion and breathtaking scenery.
