Set within stunning countryside in the heart of The Glenkens and the Galloway Hills, Bartaggart Farm offers two self catering holiday cottages as part of the recent steading conversion, which has been carried out sympathetically to blend into the surroundings.
This is the perfect location for an outdoor holiday with super walks, bridal paths and is also in close proximity to Loch Ken where there is a hive of activity. You can have a go at all types of water sports, archery, quad biking and much more. The 7 Stanes world class mountain bike trails are within driving distance at Glentrool, Kirroughtree, Ae, Dalbeattie and Mabie - Scotland’s Biking heaven. But this remote setting is also ideal for a peaceful holiday to get away from the hustle and bustle of ever day life. Enjoy some of the darkest skies in Europe and try a bit of star gazing. Wildlife enthusiasts will be spoilt for choice from The Red Kite Trail and Red Deer Range to Osprey viewing at Wigtown (Scotland’s Book Town) and Ken-Dee marshes nature reserve. Nearby New Galloway offers shops, restaurants and The Catstrand, a contemporary arts and visitor centre which features a year round programme of theatre, music, comedy, storytelling, workshops, exhibitions and film.
This cosy white holiday cottage in Dumfries and Galloway has been recently converted and is adjacent to the Farmhouse. The self catering property sleeps two guests in the double room at the rear of the cottage and two more on the sofa bed in the spacious lounge. The kitchen is very well equipped with electric oven and hob and a large fridge/freezer. The spacious lounge has dining for four and French doors open onto a paved area forming part of the garden. There is also a lawned area and beautiful views of the surrounding countryside.

A ramp to the front door then takes you into the entrance hall. There is a large cupboard which houses the washing machine and boiler. Ahead is the compact kitchen with microwave, electric oven and hob. The double bedroom with wardrobe and chest of drawers situated at the rear of the cottage. The shower room is next to the bedroom. A spacious lounge with double sofa bed, dining area and French doors to the garden.
