The villa is a delightful semi detached cottage high on the hillside overlooking the Firth of Clyde with panoramic views of the islands of Arran, Cumbrae and Bute. It is situated just outside the village of Skelmorlie in North Ayrshire and is located on a working farm. It forms part of a courtyard yet has privacy from the rest of the farm steadings.
Recently renovated, the interior is fresh and modern with evidence of its past such as the old stone fireplace surround in the kitchen. The entrance opens straight into the lounge/dining area, which then leads off into the gallery style kitchen. There is a utility room with toilet and an upstairs bath/shower room. On the first floor there are two good sized, beautifully co-ordinated, twin bedrooms. Both have zip and link beds that can be made up into super king sized beds on request. All rooms have the most fantastic views of the sea and islands beyond.
The farm comprise of two and a half thousand acres which guests are free to explore. The hillside location makes an ideal spot to watch the coming and goings of the many boats, ships, ferries and submarines. Upper Skelmorlie village with its selection of shops and great local bar is less than a mile along the road with an 18 hole golf course en route. Trout fishing is available locally.
To the south there is the town of Largs a very popular seaside resort hosting all leisure activities, whether it be a choice of 2 Golf courses, National Sports Stadium, water sport facilities, nature watching, cycling, walking, shopping or just enjoying a cup of coffee in one of the many cafes offering locally produced food.
Also from this location on the Firth of Clyde you can explore North Ayrshire, Inverclyde, Cowal Pebninsular and the islands. There is a regular ferry service to all islands. Arran is known as 'Little Scotland'. Millport on the Cumbrae has many hidden gems. The Isle of Bute has the famous Victorian sea front and the Victorian Gothic Mount Stuart House, which is a must to see.
Those needing a big city fix can take the bus or train to Glasgow to enjoy a day trip.
