Our house on the Minginish peninsula was built to a high standard in 2011 and is therefore a very well insulated eco-house. With two spacious doubles and a single bedroom Tigh na Talisker can easily accommodate 2 couples and a child. The oil-fired central heating system keeps the house warm and provides plenty of hot water. To make it really cosy and romantic on those chilly autumn and winter evenings you can light the wood burning stove in the living room. There is private parking for two cars.
Tigh na Talisker is in the centre of Skye, so within easy reach of all its attractions and beauty spots. Some of the attractions are within 5 minutes walking of the house in Carbost itself. The Old Inn is a great pub with excellent food, live music on Fridays and jam sessions once a week (so bring your guitar, flute, fiddle, or any other instrument you play.) A couple of minutes further is the world famous Talisker Distillery which, like our house, takes its name from a relatively unknown beauty spot just 10 miles away: Talisker Bay. Just up the hill from the distillery is the Oyster Shed, where you can buy very good local shell fish, other seafood and local products.
Tigh na Talisker is ideal for families, walkers, whisky enthusiasts, nature lovers, readers, writers, couples, foodies, photographers, philosophers, climbers, mountain bikers, artists, birders, beachcombers, thinkers and doers.
There are some steps from the parking area to the house so, unfortunately the house is not suitable for wheelchair access.
