Tighaneas, or ‘The Southerly House’, has a lovely situation on the banks of the beautiful Crinan Canal, where it joins Loch Fyne at Ardrishaig, a hugely scenic 86 miles via Loch Lomond and the ‘Arrochar Alps’ from Glasgow.
Set amid a large sloping, tree-fringed garden, with ample off-road parking, it offers spacious and very well-appointed accommodation – even down to a choice of sitting rooms!
The Canal towpath provides excellent scope for walking and cycling, with hostelries along the way for refreshment. Ardrishaig has shops and nearby Lochgilphead has all facilities, including a golf course and swimming pool. Further afield, you can explore historic Kilmartin Glen, head up to Oban (40m) or drive down the Mull of Kintyre, with its lovely scenery, legendary seafood and a great surfing beach at Machrihanish.
