Tringa, Parus, Sylvia and Strix @ Eagle Brae are part of a new luxury log cabins village resort, mixing all modern amenities with visual rustic charm. Entirely powered by renewables, with wildflower roofs browsed by goats, Eagle Brae re-defines the Highlands self-catering standard. Located in-between the serene beauty of Glen Affric and Glen Strathfarrar, the finest remaining stands of pristine Caledonian pine-forest wilderness,
Tringa is located right on the edge of the ridge overlooking the superb views of the meandering river Glass in the Strath. Wild deer regularly traverse the wooded slopes, covered in wild chanterelle mushrooms, below this cabin's front deck. This cabin has an additional mezzanine balcony sitting room upstairs with generous space for anyone with relaxation on the agenda.
Parus is the highest log cabin set up on the hillside overlooking the wildflower roofs of the cabins below, with super views out across the valley towards Mauld. Parus straddles a steep slope with commanding views over the rest of Eagle Brae. This cabin has an additional mezzanine balcony sitting room upstairs with generous space for anyone with relaxation on the agenda.
Sylvia is the only Eagle Brae cabin facing due south. It has absolutely private views of an open clearing that attracts rutting stags in the autumn. This cabin is in a quiet and secluded spot at the back of the broch and is in prime position to absorb all that Highland sunshine! This cabin has an additional mezzanine balcony sitting room upstairs with generous space for anyone with relaxation on the agenda.
Strix sits on the gentle slopes below the old broch with fantastic views out across the glen over a canopy of mature birch and willow in the hollow below the cabin. With the best views of the Cayuga duck pond and its reputation as the best cabin to view the wild deer, this will become many people's favourite place to be. This cabin has an additional mezzanine balcony sitting room upstairs with generous space for anyone with relaxation on the agenda.

Located in-between the serene beauty of Glen Affric and Glen Strathfarrar, the finest remaining stands of pristine Caledonian pine-forest wilderness, Eagle Brae is a luxury self-catering eco-resort entirely powered by renewables. Genuine hand-crafted log cabins topped with wild-flower green roofs. There are no machine cut logs and no two logs the same: every cabin is a unique handmade work of log art. The cabin interiors are finished with hand carved wooden panels depicting Scottish wildlife, Celtic knotwork and Pictish motifs. Everything at Eagle Brae is hand-made like the good old days: hand-crafted logs, hand-woven tweed curtains, custom hand-made hardwood furniture, hand-carved interiors and hand-woven cotton rugs. The cabins are set well apart around an old Highland broch on an elevated ridge overlooking beautiful Strathglass. Eagle Brae has been specifically designed as a carbon neutral tourist destination: powered by a micro-hydro turbine and heated by biomass boilers. The ultimate Highland hideaway.
How to get here:-
Eagle Brae is located 13 miles west of Beauly, around 20 miles west of Inverness, and about 30 miles from Inverness Airport. Frequent trains travel to Inverness from both Glasgow and Edinburgh as well as from London, including the Caledonian Sleeper service from Euston.
Domestic airlines run regular flights to Inverness from London Gatwick, Luton, Bristol, Birmingham and Manchester. For guests travelling from Europe and further afield, Flybe now operates regular direct flights to Inverness from a European hub airport, Amsterdam Schiphol. There are also seasonal direct flights from other destinations such as Dusseldorf and Jersey among others.
By road you can approach from the south via Inverness or from the west via Drumnadrochit and Cannich. We have a fairly steep driveway up to the cabins so we have designed a winter parking area at the bottom should any spells of significant snowfall prevent guests from accessing the site using their own vehicle. In such an event, an Eagle Brae all-terrain vehicle will take you and your baggage up to your log home.
