Directions
Turnberry is closer than you think, and with recent upgrades to the M77 Turnberry it is now only 1 hour drive from Glasgow City Centre.
From Glasgow International Airport 88km/55 miles (approximately 55 minutes)
- Join the M8 motorway eastbound towards Glasgow city centre and Edinburgh
- Exit the M8 at junction 24
- Follow signs for the M77/A77 towards Prestwick Airport and Kilmarnock
- Follow directions as described above (from Glasgow).
Getting there by railway:- Turnberry can also be accessed through the railway network. Ayr railway station is just 25 minutes from Turnberry, alternatively Girvan and Maybole stations are 10 minutes away.
Getting there by aeroplane:- There are two international airports within an hour's drive of Turnberry: Glasgow International and Glasgow Prestwick Airport. Edinburgh International Airport is less than two hours drive away.
Glasgow Airport is the busiest of Scotland's three main international airports. Over 40 airlines serve around 80 destinations. Glasgow Prestwick Airport has flights to and from over 25 European destinations.
Getting there by ferry:- There are three ferry terminals within an hour's drive of Turnberry: Stranraer and Cairnryan to the south and Troon to the north.
Cairnryan and Troon terminals are accessible from Larne, Northern Ireland while Stranraer ferry departs from Belfast, Northern Ireland.
