Glen Lyon is Scotland's longest glen and possibly one of the prettiest, and at the top of the glen lies Vannoch Cottage within the pretty clachan of Pubil. Guests visiting this delightful holiday cottage will be astounded by the peace, beauty and tranquillity of the surrounding Perthshire countryside, with its majestic hills and river tumbling past only yards from the bottom of the garden. The self catering cottage has been recently refurbished and is bright and fresh. The large sitting/dining room has comfortable sofas centred round a wonderful multi-fuel burning stove, a dining table seating five people and views to the river. The kitchen is well equipped and benefits from an oil fired AGA. The downstairs bathroom is fresh and modern whilst upstairs the two double bedrooms are bright and airy with views over the river and up and down the glen. A further single bedroom offers more flexibility.
Outside is an enclosed garden and guests can fish on the river only a few steps from the house. Guests will not fail to be impressed by the stunning scenery and the complete sense of tranquilly and relaxation to be had.
For those guests who can tear themselves away from this delightful cottage, there is much to do. Walkers will love this area with several Munros on the doorstep, including the National Nature Reserve of Ben Lawers, in addition to many beautiful low level walks. Or guests may wish to visit the pretty Arts and Crafts village of Fortingall, reputed to be the birth place of Pontius Pilate, with its thatched cottages and a church yard with a 5000 year old yew tree, or perhaps a visit to Dewar's distillery in Aberfeldy, or the reconstructed Bronze Age Crannog at Kenmore. There is much wild life to be spotted including brown hares, stoats, pine martens, badgers, foxes, and red deer, and perhaps even a Golden Eagle! No matter what your interests you are bound to love this wonderful part of Scotland.
