Welcome to Wedderlie House and Grounds. We are a brand new, exclusive use wedding and events venue nestled on a private estate in the Scottish Borders, an easy drive from the capital. Whether it’s the converted stables with far-reaching views, a garden marquee or an outdoor ceremony in the festoon-lit courtyard, the choice is yours at Wedderlie.
The secluded 60-acre estate will be yours to share with family and friends for the entirety of your stay. Our usual hire is three days and two nights, including function spaces for ceremonies and celebrations, and on-site accommodation for 42+ guests. Function spaces consist of two beautifully converted barns; an onsite bar; and a garden marquee with seating for 130 at round tables. On-site accommodation is spread between historic Wedderlie House, our country cottage and converted hayloft. We also welcome private events and holiday rentals
And of course, there are the grounds themselves, with lawns, woodlands, rose garden, sports court and those beautiful Border’s views. All of this is located only thirty miles south of Edinburgh, forty miles from Edinburgh Airport and eighty miles from both Glasgow and Newcastle.
Wedderlie House is a family run business with an experienced events team. With a limited number of weddings each year, we work closely with each couple to plan their perfect day. No two weddings are the same at Wedderlie, and we encourage each couple to create a unique and truly unforgettable experience. Our ethos is simple: Your day, Your stay, Your way.
Here at Wedderlie House we also specialise in family/group/jubilees/stags/hens celebration stays for larger groups where you can hire our accommodation outlets individually or take advantage of the exclusive use of the venue.We also specialise in field sports like shooting parties or salmon fishing inclusive of accommodation, we can source catering for you.Please get in touch with your ideas!
