Our Eco-Huts at Westward are mini timber-framed cabins offering Glamping style accommodation at the gateway to Glen Affric. Built using locally sourced timber, the huts is set in a wild meadow adjoining the house and garden.
As an alternative to B&B in the house we can now offer the opportunity for self catering in our new sustainable timber framed hut.
Designed and built by Alistair , the huts have been a constructed using sustainable, locally sourced timber and are topped off with a turf roof. Douglas Fir has been used to create the frame, whilst Larch is used for the cladding. All the logs have been milled on-site using our own woodmizer sawmill.
The Huts are perfect for glamping containing:
2 small single beds,
A fully equipped mini-kitchen with fridge, hob, microwave + sink,
An ensuite shower/toilet,
Bed linen and towels are provided.
The Eco-huts are set in the land adjoining the house and garden which is covered by wild meadow. Each hut has a deck on which to sit and relax after a busy day down the Glens. There is a designated area for BBQs or campfires.
Both Eco huts have a similar layout and the same facilities. However, Hut 1 has been plaster boarded and has 2 small twin beds, whilst Hut 2 has been left with boards showing and has 2 standard twin beds.
