This excellent, bright, snug and beautifully-appointed timber lodge is gloriously situated above the River Isla in the lovely glen of the same name on the Perthshire-Angus border near Alyth (10m, all facilities).
One of four on the site, it stands a little apart and faces away from the others, with sweeping views across the river to the hills beyond. A substantial decking area (furniture) and patio doors enable guests to enjoy the view whatever the weather.
This is a truly idyllic spot, where deer may come down to feed around the lodge morning and evening. Reached by a track from the nearby country road, it is both peaceful and safe for children and pets. Good walking from the door, cycling, fishing, ski-ing, riding and golf on several local courses mean energetic tastes are well-catered for. The Lodge is also well-situated for visiting Braemar and Royal Deeside, Dundee, Fife and St Andrews, Pitlochry and even Aviemore and the Cairngorms.
