Join us to learn Cat Outram’s unique style of Á la poupée in this one-day class. Cat will show you how to introduce multiple colours into your etched plate without the need for tricky registration, while adding a unique soft element to printed images.
Á la poupée (with the doll) is a method of intaglio printing in which different colours of ink are applied to one printing surface (in this case an etched plate) using various tools and implements.
Cat Outram has been a printmaker for roughly 40 years, and a professional artist for over 30 (1991). Over this time Cat has developed her unique and evocative style in etching at Edinburgh Printmakers and has exhibited widely across Scotland and the UK.
This class is suitable for beginners, but it is recommended to have some understanding of the etching process to make the most of the class.
IMPORTANT: There will be no plate making during this class. Please bring along an etched plate on the day, or email in advance so we can prepare one for you.
