In the sixties, stars didn't come bigger than singer Frankie Vaughan. Number one hits, movies with Marilyn Monroe, Vaughan was a star at the very height of his power when he came to Glasgow, a visit which would change the face of one of the city's most deprived areas forever. Vaughan mediated between police and gang leaders to bring about a knife amnesty that set into motion a process of change for the beleaguered housing estate. Mr Moonlight is how Frankie's life-long affinity for Glasgow and its people might have come about.
