Two local community members have set up means of providing support for children and women in two different parts of Africa. They have both been involved in their own ways of getting support for both South Africa and Zimbawhe. Folks from the community are invited to come in throughout the day and knit a square. These squares will be sewed together to become baby blankets for the Zimbaweh women who are the knitters for the Gogo Olive charity.
I in turn am also becoming the sole outlet in Stromness for the knitting that GogoOlive produces. There will be donation buckets for the two groups. There will be a display that shows how much the children in South Africa benefit from the breakfast program that EPAP provides them. So my retail space is an outlet for giving on Fair Saturday!
