It’s panto time again – oh yes it is! This year our story is set in the Far East… Naw, not Fife! CHINA!
There’s trouble brewing in Old Peking… Abanazar, the world’s slimiest sorcerer, has arrived on the scene, and he will do anything to get his horrible hands on the magic lamp.
Only our hero, Aladdin, can stop his evil plans.
But life’s no’ easy for our man, Aladdin. All we wants is to marry the beautiful Princess Jasmine, but she must be married to a Prince, and he’s just a poor pleb. On top of that, his barmy mammy, Widow Twankey, has nae money, and she’s got the Chinese Laundry Blues. His brother, Wishee Washee is no help either, and he’s a few prawn crackers short of a takeaway.
Enter Abanazar, who promises Aladdin all the riches in the world… if he finds him the magic lamp…
Is Abanazar up to no good?
Will Aladdin and Princess Jasmine ever be together?
Will Widow Twankey and Wishee Washee get those pants clean?
And will we have to shout ‘Bring doon the cloot’ again?
All will be revealed in Greenock Players production of “Aladdin”, full of ingenious genies, potty policemen, wicked wizards, trunkloads of treasure, the prettiest of princesses, and loads of laughs!
