Following their successful previous season at Riddle's Court, the duelling fiddles of The Ambrose House Band return with their unique, relaxed evening of special guests, music song, chat and storytelling.
Folk music is no stranger to the darker theme of death, murder, magic and the macabre. Join us on October 31st for a Scottish Halloween evening – a ghost story, a song of murdered lovers and a dook for apples.
Enjoy the evening’s musical delights beneath the spectacular painted ceiling of the Geddes Room. Commissioned by Patrick Geddes and supervised by artist Thomas K Bonnar in the 1890s, the panels illustrate a pageant of historical events and illusions, prominent Edinburgh citizens and snippets of Geddes’ philosophical musings.
Tickets include a simple supper of meats, cheeses and fruit.
Details of our December 3rd event will follow, plus guest acts will be announced via Eventbrite and social media – stay tuned!
Every ticket sold helps support the work of the Patrick Geddes Centre at Riddle’s Court, and Scottish Historic Buildings Trust.
