The annual Art Walk Festival celebrates Edinburgh's rich and diverse cultural seaside at Portobello. Across more than 80 locations the festival explores many of the coast's public outdoor spaces. Pottery kilns from our cultural heritage will be opened up once again to the public with a series of artist installations, performances & events; more than 50 artists open up their houses and studios to the public showcasing their work; art is exhibited in local shops, cafes and other outdoor spaces in and around the beach and promenade.
The 2020 Festival will also feature a Mass Prom Cook+Eat celebrating the food of the sea, an apple tree gifting project, and an artist residency at a local allotments site. Evenings see film projected onto Portobello Prom accompanied by fish n chips. All alongside a series of artist-led walks that invite the public to explore the lesser visited habitats around this unique location where the land meets the sea.
