This year you have a fantastic choice of fifty seven studios and venues in the seventeenth annual Artmap Argyll open studios event. There are artists taking part from Onich in the north to Carradale near Campbeltown in the south. This is the most extensive range of studios the event has ever had. All the artists are members of Artmap Argyll and there are ten new studios taking part for the first time.
The event is an opportunity to visit artists in their studios, to see how they work, without the pressure to buy – although if you do fall in love with a piece, you have the joy of meeting the artist and seeing how the work is made. In many studios there are opportunities to try out the technique or craft the artist employs and to browse their sketchbooks to see how they develop their ideas.
All the studios will be open during the event, but some will not be open on every day. Please check if a studio is open before you decide to visit. You can find opening times on each profile and more up to date information on our website.
All information is available on the Artmap Argyll website, together with a downloadable directory. Printed directories are available from most tourist information displays and at hotels and guest houses throughout the West of Scotland.
