A promenade theatre performance bringing stories of Auld Ayr back to life.
A promenade theatre performance, delivered by local young people and based on the memories of older residents, celebrating the rich history of Ayr town centre, Harbourside and Industrial Quarter.
This fun intergenerational project, delivered by The Iris Ayr in partnership with South Ayrshire Council Thriving Communities, will bring to life legendary stories of smugglers and witches, prisoners and rag-and-bone men, as well as lesser-known stories of the men and women who worked in the town’s dairy, stamping works, carpet factory and fish market. The performance will combine site-specific live storytelling and pre-recorded audio narration.
The performance will take place at these times:
Friday 12 August (6.30pm)
Saturday 13 August (12pm and 2pm)
