As always, the traditional highland games held at Lochearnhead provide all the spectacle and excitement you expect to find at a highland venue. Track and field events, heavyweight events like the caber and weight throwing, piping and a pipe band and of course the ever popular highland dancing competitions.
Many of the events are open to everyone and children are encouraged to take part in the Fun Races; please make your way to the start when you hear the event announced not across the ring (see approx. timings below).
All races are free to enter and prizes will be awarded. Only the Hill Race requires pre-registration, this must be done on the day of the Games at the Secretary’s tent. The games take place on agricultural land and people taking part do so at their own risk.
Parents are asked to keep an eye on children and not let them enter or cross the ring at any time.
Competitors pay the entry fee at the gate on the day (cash only, there is no ATM in the village) – there is no further registration fee on the field.
