by Edinburgh Interfaith Association
Every faith tradition has the story of someone who was prepared to make a great sacrifice for what they believed in. At this event we remember the great sacrifice made by St Andrew and remember other great figures within the historical religious traditions who were also prepared to make a great sacrifice for the good of others.
We will look at the figure of Rama from the Hindu festival of Diwali, Judah the Maccabee from the Jewish festival of Hannuakh, the sixth Guru of Sikhism, Guru Hargobind from the Sikh festival of Bandhi Chor and the festival marking the birth of Bahuallah from the Bahai faith. All of these events occur close to the festival of St. Andrews. Additionally we remember the figure of Imam Ali Hussain.
We will begin with an Interfaith Service followed by Dinner and a Concert. We will also be holding a silent auction to fundraise for EIFA.
