St Cecilia’s Hall presents a tale of three fiddles and the women’s stories they told at this evening performance of music and storytelling.
For Scotland’s Year of Stories 2022, St Cecilia's Hall is pleased to host a series of events focussing on traditional Scottish fiddle playing and storytelling.
This final event is an intimate performance ‘in the round’ at the first purpose-built concert hall in Scotland, featuring fiddle player Marie Fielding and storyteller Beverley Bryant. Marie will play fiddle tunes by James Hogg, William Marshall and James Scott Skinner on the musicians’ original instruments as Beverley tells the tales of the forgotten women to whom these tunes were dedicated. Who are the women in these tune titles and what have we forgotten about their past?
