After our last sold out Edinburgh show, and a riotous late night appearance at the Balkanarama Edinburgh Fringe edition, we're back!
Blue Giant Orkestar
A tune-tastic trans-European gold-plated instrumental hydra of nuclear brass, searing fiddle, pounding tuba, one enormous Russian concert accordion and a percussion section that could flatten your house. Fuelled by Balkan horos, Serbian brass festivals, Turkish pop songs, Bulgarian accordion fireworks and the odd Swedish polska, we play powerful and intricate originals as well as arrangements from many nations and peoples.
This time, we're aiming to shake the pre-historic foundations of Edinburgh's most atmospheric venue: The Caves, and to do so, we're bringing two very special groups of friends to warm up for us:
Siren harmonies and firedancing folk: the debut gig from this brand new project with musicians from across Europe.
A special performance from Edinburgh's own Bulgarian dance troupe!
