Following his mammoth year-long re-release project Distortion: 1989-2019 – totalling 24 CDs and 32 vinyl LPs – alt-rock elder statesman Bob Mould brings his solo electric tour to Glasgow. Tonight’s setlist spans Mould’s entire remarkable career, all the way from Hüsker Dü’s turbocharged melodic punk to 2020’s furiously polemical Blue Hearts. Formed in 1979, Hüsker Dü were among the first hardcore acts to win mainstream recognition, later cited as a key inspiration by Nirvana. Mould’s subsequent solo and band projects, including the much-loved Sugar, took in detours towards electronica, indie and dance music, while always circling back to the noise-rock motherlode.
