"Breabach embarked on the journey from Astar to Frenzy of the Meeting with an open mind and a keen desire to explore, listeners who join them are sure to enjoy the results with an ever increasing sense of wonder." Folk Radio UK
Having closed 2019 by winning the coveted BBC Scotland Traditional Music album of the year, the band were looking forward to a busy 2021.
2020 marked a very special year in the life of Scottish folk favourites Breabach, as it was their 15th anniversary. Throughout those 15 years the band have always looked to acknowledge and respect the origins of both the music they play and the roots of the band whilst embracing the future with new ideas, energy and belief. It is these key attributes, combined with hard work and talent, that has seen them develop into one of Scotland's most exciting and successful folk groups. With 6 albums under their belt, a multitude of awards and a consistently full touring schedule, quite literally across the world, they look perfectly set to continue to build upon their successes.
The band started their anniversary year by teaming up with Glenturret, who distilled a special single cask 15 year-old single malt in celebration. They then headed off to Australia to perform at the iconic venue of Sydney Opera House. Celebrations continued with a UK wide tour through February and March before the world became a very different place.
The band spent lockdown writing Dùsagadh, five new pieces of music put to animation by BAFTA award winning Cat Bruce. This 'virtually toured 19 venues/festivals in the UK including CatStrand through our virtual events platform CatStrand at Home.

COVID POLICY FOR THIS PERFORMANCE
We look forward to welcoming you, for the first time we are placing all tickets on sale and expect to sell a full house. There will be a number of measures in place to reduce risk. So please note the following.
We will not reserve empty seats between household groups as has been the case at previous CatStrand events. There will probably be someone sat in the seats next to you.
As per government guidance, masks are required to be worn inside and throughout the performance, unless you are sat down and eating or drinking or have a medical exemption.
1m distancing should be maintained at all other times.
Our new ventilation system will be installed. This filters the air and will ensure good air-flow.
For everyone's reassurance and safety, we politely request that audience members take a lateral flow test prior to attending. These are free and can be done at home or at a testing site. See NHS DG for up to date advice on where to obtain the tests.
Full refunds will be available if cancelling due to a positive test.
