"To your rude health!"
Iuchair present a concert of 17th- and 18th-century catches, rounds and other canonical music, featuring the drinking and societal songs of Purcell and his contemporaries. An evening of humorous songs not for the faint-hearted, a delight to warm one's spirits on a cold December night!
Iuchair are an early music vocal ensemble based in Glasgow, specialising in performing music from neglected, unusual and seldom-performed repertories and are taking a break from their usual programme of sacred music to perform this special programme, demonstrating that some of the greatest composers that ever lived had light-hearted senses of humour.
Joshua Stutter, Edward Marshall and Alasdair Robertson.
