Professor Sarah Broadie
School of Philosophical, Anthropological & Film Studies
Professor Broadie taught at the Universities of Edinburgh, Texas at Austin, Yale, Rutgers, and Princeton, before coming to St Andrews in 2001. She focusses on ethics, metaphysics and in particular classical philosophy, with a particular expertise in Aristotle.
She has served as Vice President of the British Academy, and she has also been President of the Aristotelian Society and the Mind Association. The quality of her scholarship and commitment to teaching were recognised with the award of an OBE in this year’s Queen’s Birthday Honours.
