A wonderful series of arches covered in scented roses is just one of the centre piece attractions here.
Herbaceous borders with wispy grasses, colourful perennials, lillium and allium planting surrounding a grass labyrinth add to this spectacular walled garden lovingly restored over ten years. Culinary and medicinal herbs, vegetable and cut flowers fill the potager, with old espaliered fruit trees trained on the walls. Interesting scree and rock garden, peat bed plantings and woodland walk leading to a ruined tomb. National Plant Collection: Narcissus (Backhouse cvs.)
Over half of the gardens are taking part to support open garden charity Scotland’s Gardens Scheme which raises money for hundreds of local charities.
