There is a semi-formal garden that lends itself to quiet reflection with stunning views up Glenrinnes. A walled kitchen garden, with a large, heated greenhouse, supplies plants, cut flowers and fruit and vegetables. There is also a newly-developed herbaceous border displaying vibrant colours through the use of perennial and half-hardy plantings. There are delightful walks in the meadow around the pond and into the woodland; watch out for red squirrels! Some major works have been undertaken recently and much of the garden is still a ‘work in progress’. In keeping with the rest of the estate, Glenrinnes Lodge is gardened following organic principles.
This is a fundraising event for the open garden charity Scotland’s Gardens Scheme which raises money for hundreds of local charities.
