Kirklee Circus Garden is a delightful oasis of calm enclosed by a discreet enclave of Victorian houses west of the Botanic Gardens. Over the years a dense circle of 32 lime trees has been reduced to five and replaced in stages with a large variety of interesting plants, many defying the shady location. This process will be continued into the future which will encourage a return visit. Since 2013 a new flower bed and path has been established. To the rear of the villas and terraced houses are the residents' walled gardens, 12 of which will be on show. These display an amazing variety reflecting the aspirations and character of generations of owners as well as present residents.
This is a fundraising event for the open garden charity Scotland’s Gardens Scheme which raises money for hundreds of local charities.
